Locky is the truncated directorial name of Irish director Lochlainn McKenna. Locky started his filmmaking journey by studying acting in his native Cork City before swiftly moving through a variety of roles from assistant directing and editing to casting and producing (one personal life highlight was producing two episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County) before he eventually stumbled upon directing in 2017.

Adventurous and tumultuous weekends with his father throughout his childhood have set the grounding for a career that focuses on the minutiae of relationships and finding sincerity at the core of every life avenue.

His Best New Director Award at the Kinsale Sharks is among the gongs he’s most proud of to date. Since then there have been Staff Picks, Nowness features and UKMVA nods amongst many other commendations.

Locky has worked with agencies such as BBH, Grey, Ogilvy, BBDO and Publicis and crafted a broad range of work for the likes of Specsavers, Tesco, Toyota, Guinness and Sky.

Most importantly Locky enjoys his newfound mononymous title since moving to London and likes to imagine he's as doted upon as his other mononymous pals in Björk, Pelé, Kelis and, er, Bono.
